IF YOU WANT TO DO MORE:
Step 5: Use your social media, email lists, and other forms of outreach to your customers to invite them to make donations themselves. (See sample of Facebook posts, and email text here.)
Step 6: Send a press release to your local newspaper(s) announcing the Jewelers for Japan fundraising drive. (See sample press release here.)
Step 7: Consider hosting a simple after-work wine and cheese fundraising event at your store.
Step 8: Take the unwanted gold and silver jewelry and send to the participating refiner, as in Step 4.
Step 9: At the end of the 90 day period, Jewelers for Japan will issue a statement declaring the total dollar value raised under the program, along with a suggested press release to send again to your local paper, and post on your social media channels. We will also do what we can to provide information on how the money was used, and the difference it made.
REMEMBER: MOTHER NATURE IS POWERFUL. BUT SO ARE WE. JEWELERS FOR JAPAN!
